Goat Rearing Scheme Brings Financial Stability to Gujarat’s farmers

A government livestock scheme is helping farmers in Gujarat build sustainable livelihoods. In Jamnagar’s Tamachal village, Hathabhai Chavaliya turned to goat rearing after struggling with employment and financial difficulties. With government support, he purchased 10 goats and one buck - and started a new livelihood for his family. The initiative has brought Hathabhai a regular source of income, greater financial stability and confidence. Under the Animal Husbandry Department’s goat-rearing scheme, beneficiaries receive assistance up to 1.20 lakh rupees for purchasing goats, along with support for fencing, shelter and fodder.
