‘Historic verdict after Ram Mandir…’: Vishnu Shankar Jain on Bhojshala High Court Verdict

May 16, 2026

Dhar (Madhya Pradesh), May 16, 2026 (ANI): On the Bhojshala case, advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain said, “Regarding the Muslim side, the Court has stated that if they wish to obtain alternative land, a representation to the government may be submitted on their behalf and the government will consider the request to allot them alternative land." On similarities between the Ram Mandir case and the Bhojshala case, he said, "There are some similarities to the Ram Mandir case; if one examines this within a strictly legal paradigm, there are also significant differences." "They (the Muslim side) are entirely free to approach the Supreme Court; it is their constitutional right. We, too, will welcome them there; we will be present in the Supreme Court to present our arguments before the bench—just as we did in the High Court—and we will continue to contest the matter there on the basis of legal logic and merit." "This was an order dated April 7, 2003, under which the Hindu side was granted the right to perform worship at this site every Tuesday. Furthermore, under that very same order of April 7, 2003, the Muslim side was permitted to offer Namaz at this specific location every Friday; additionally, the Hindu side was also granted the right to perform worship here on the day of Basant Panchami. Today, the court has set aside the order under which the Muslim side had been permitted to offer Namaz there."
