China relents, Indian diplomatic pressure prevails, Abdul Rehman Makki designated ‘Global terrorist’

The UNSC listed Pakistan-based terrorist Abdul Rehman Makki as a global terrorist on Jan 16. Makki has been sanctioned under UNSC’s ISIL (Da'esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions Committee. Abdul Makki designated as a global terrorist after China finally relented and Indian diplomatic pressure prevailed. Earlier, China repeatedly blocked India’s proposal to list the LeT leader as a global terrorist.
