With QR codes, geo-tagging to preserve Chinar trees amid rapid urbanization in Kashmir valley

Srinagar (J&K), January 24 (ANI): Authorities took unique initiative to preserve thousands of 'Chinar' trees in Kashmir valley. Chinar trees are getting geo-tagged to create a comprehensive database for their management. These trees have been under threat of extinction for a long time due to rapid urbanization and diseases. These deciduous trees have always been a symbol of Kashmir, attracting tourists from all over the world.
