Why Lok Sabha pays tribute to Gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed in Parliament?

New Delhi, July 21 (ANI): Mafia-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were shot dead in front of mediapersons. They were killed when three assailants opened fire at them near a medical college in Prayagraj. The assailants posed as mediapersons and were arrested on the crime spot. Now, Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla paid tribute to the gangster in the Lower House. Notably, Atiq won the Phulpur Lok Sabha seat in 2004 as he got the ticket from Samajwadi Party. He entered politics in 1989 when he won Allahabad West constituency as an independent candidate.
