Anantnag (J&K) Oct 12 (ANI): If one needs to know the actual meaning of these lyrics, then this village in Anantnag district of Jammu & Kashmir would be perfect place for him. Known as Mattan, people of different sects reside here with peace and brotherhood. Be it a temple, mosque or Gurudwara, the village has it all, making it a beautiful example of religious diversity. The local says that people of various faiths have been living here together for ages and have never let their religion create a rift among them. As per the evidences, the village had a greater population of Hindus and Sikhs residing together along with Muslims before 1990’s. However in 1990’s due to insurgency, a number of Pandit families left the Valley and migrated to Jammu and other places of the country. But after 1996, many families returned back and today they are again living peacefully with their Muslim neighbours. Today, be it a happy occasion like marriage or sorrowful event like last rites, they freely visit each other’s household and even help each other. The way in which Mattan village has kept its tradition of oneness alive even during tough times, clearly shows that no other religion is greater than the religion of humanity.
