Tarn Taran attack: Neighbouring nation wants to bleed India with thousand cuts, says Punjab DGP

Tarn Taran (Punjab), Dec 10 (ANI): Director General of Police of Punjab Gaurav Yadav visited Sarhali Police Station whose ‘Suvidha Centre’ was hit by a low-intensity blast on the night of December 09. A case has been registered under UAPA, informed DGP Gaurav Yadav, while addressing media persons post his visit. He also said the neighbouring nation’s strategy is to bleed India with thousand cuts. He said, “Preliminary investigation reveals that around 11.22 pm last night, a grenade was fired from highway using RPG. It hit Suvidha Centre of Sarhali PS. An FIR was registered under UAPA. Forensic team is here. Army squad is here too, we will investigate this technically and forensically, all clues from the scene of the crime are being collected, so that we reconstruct what happened. We are recovering the launcher.” “Preliminary probe reveals it should be military-grade hardware and could be a matter of trans-border smuggling. It is a very clear indication that it's a strategy of neighbouring nation to bleed India by a thousand cuts. Punjab Police, with BSF and central agencies, will proceed with further investigation,” he added. A Police Station in Punjab’s Tarn Taran was attacked by some miscreants on night of December 09. As per the police, a ‘rocket-launcher-type weapon’ was fired at Sarhali Police Station in Tarn Taran district of Punjab, forensic team is continuing further investigations.
