Sanitation workers playing big role in preventing COVID-19: CM Gehlot

Jaipur (Rajasthan), July 8 (ANI): Interacting with public representatives of civic bodies and sanitation workers through video conference, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that "dedication with which they have worked, we have been able to stop the spread of corona infection. The hard work of all of them including the doctors, nursing staff, anganwadi workers and police involved in the fight against Corona has increased the honour and respect of Rajasthan in the country." During the programme, CM Gehlot said that for the last four months, Rajasthan has managed to control the corona pandemic. Sanitation workers have played a big role in keeping the city, street and neighborhood free from infection by risking their lives. The state government has provided one thousand rupees each to sanitation workers for masks, gloves, sanitisers and other safety equipment so that they do not get infected while working as frontline workers. Rajasthan is also the first state to provide an insurance cover of Rs 50 lakh to the government and non-government personnel involved in battle against COVID-19. CM Gehlot also instructed all district collectors and municipal authorities to ensure that no sanitation worker has to enter the manhole to clean the sewerage. This work should be done completely by machines. Around 1600 representatives from 196 civic bodies across the state participated in this programme through video conference.
