Odisha’s centuries-old Kapileshwar Temple makes it to ASI’s protected monuments' list

Bhubaneswar (Odisha), May 17 (ANI): The centuries-old Kapileshwar Temple, that has spelled many through its beauty and breathtaking architecture, is up for a much-needed change. The holy structure in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar has been witnessing severe damage since its last renovation that was done in the 14th century by Gajapati Kapilendra Dev. However, after a push by the temple priests and the Centre, the temple will soon go under the wing of the Archaeological Survey of India. The temple will be added to ASI’s protected monuments' list which will ensure its structural and architectural safety. Lauding the initiative, the priest narrated the temple’s situation and thanked the Centre for the step. It being a temple that has been serving as a reminder of region's rich history, is one of the most preached temples in the country. The Lord Shiva temple, Kapileshwar Temple, is just a km away from the famous 11th century temple, Lingaraj Temple.
