Kathmandu (Nepal), May 22 (ANI): Political tensions continue to rise in Nepal’s Parliament as the opposition Shram Sanskriti Party and House Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal remain locked in a standoff over Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s absence from House proceedings. Opposition lawmakers led by Harka Raj Rai staged a placard protest demanding the PM’s presence and accused the government of avoiding accountability. Speaker Aryal invoked Rule 30 and warned lawmakers over conduct deemed against parliamentary decorum. Rai alleged ministers repeatedly skip sessions and fail to respond to lawmakers’ concerns on inflation, border issues and cooperative victims. The opposition has urged the Speaker to direct the Prime Minister and ministers to attend Parliament regularly.
