Kashmiri woman helps conserve wildlife in the valley

Srinagar (JandK), Aug 23 (ANI): In order to protect wildlife in the Kashmir valley Aaliya Mir has been playing a vital role. The former Physics teacher, Aaliya is a project manager of Wildlife SOS in Kashmir. She studied about wildlife during her stint at the Delhi office of Wildlife SOS. Aaliya Mir is a fearsome adventurist, who heads a regional offshoot of an international NGO which campaigns against animal abuse. She has engendered a network of volunteers across JandK who tip her off about incidents of animal plight requiring immediate intervention. Along with NGO, she also heads a Rescue Rehabilitation Centre of Dachigam national park where a group of Himalayan black bears are under rehabilitation. Aaliya's team takes care of the Himalayan bears. With the main aim of mitigation of man-animal conflict, Aaliya works on spreading awareness amongst locals to resolve conflicts peacefully.
