J&K records highest-ever tourist footfall

Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, April 04 (ANI): J&K is witnessing record-breaking tourist arrivals since last winter. Air traffic witnessed considerable high growth between April 202l and Dec 2021. VAT and sales tax on Aviation Turbine Fuel was reduced from 26% to 1% and a 30% load penalty was also removed in Jammu Airport which helped to boost travel. Besides, night flight operations & easy cargo movement facilities proved valuable additions. Moreover, 75 offbeat destinations were introduced and grand festivals like the Houseboat festival, Sufi festival and literary festival also played a key role in alluring tourists. The tourism industry has stepped up its efforts to embrace more tourists this year.
