Insha Mir starts organic fabric unit ‘EcoKash’ in Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 26 (ANI): Insha Mir started her first organic fabric clothing unit named EcoKash in Kashmir. She hails from Srinagar and pursued her degree in Journalism. She also did many jobs in different companies to get a livelihood. But finally she decided to start a different kind of unit in Kashmir. Her clothes are a combination of organic fabric, natural dyes and Kashmiri handcrafts which are able to make its presence in the National and International market. Insha Mir got this idea from Naropa fellowship, which is a yearlong Post Graduate Academic Programme in Entrepreneurship and Leadership course. She got an insight on Sustainability while she set the stepping stone of EcoKash brand in Kashmir. Insha Mir has an affordable collection for her customers and her sustainable fashion is also a long lasting. She grew up at a place where women take up skills to make their livelihood. She had an experience with this and hence set up her first unit of organic sustainable fabric in Kashmir. Insha Mir also faced a lot of resistance from society. Many relatives and friends tried to divert her by suggesting to do a good job and leave her business. She wanted to grow her brand at the Industry level so that she can provide jobs to many youth of Kashmir.
