India's first-ever seaplane service launched from Ahmedabad to Kevadia

Kevadia, Gujarat (ANI) October 31: India’s first-ever seaplane services have been launched from Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati riverfront to Statue of Unity in Kevadia on the 145th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It aims to revolutionise the country’s regional connectivity scheme. Water aerodromes at both these locations are being developed with aviation expertise of Airports Authority of India in cooperation with Gujarat Government. The project is funded by the Ministry of Civil Aviation under its RCS-UDAN scheme. There are plans to develop 12 such sea plane routes in the country with an aim to boost tourism and generate employment.
