Indian Army tanks, BMPs in action in Eastern Ladakh, cross Indus River and show other capabilities

Nyoma (Ladakh), July 08 (ANI): Situated 50 km from the LAC, Nyoma in Eastern Ladakh is of great tactical significance for India’s defence. Efforts by the Indian government to transform Nyoma into a full-fledged base continue at war-footing. Indian Army tanks, combat vehicles were witnessed carrying out drills of crossing the Indus River in the eastern Ladakh. Nyoma airfield has been used for the transportation of men and material during ongoing stand-off with China. The capability of operating fighter aircraft from Nyoma would strengthen IAF’s ability to tackle any misadventures. The Chinese have been amassing troops since 2020 and carrying out aggression in the garb of military exercises. India has long been considering multiple options for developing airfields in eastern Ladakh including Daulat Beg Oldi, Fukche and Nyoma
