New Delhi, Feb 18, 2026 (ANI): PM Modi talked to ANI as New Delhi hosted world leaders in tech and policy making in AI summit. Speaking to ANI, PM Modi explained his ‘AI vision’ for ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ amid global race for domination. India should be among top 3 AI superpowers globally: PM Modi stated as New Delhi braces up for AI race. India is already well equipped to adapt to this change, said PM Modi when asked upon India’s preparedness. PM cited Stanford’s Global AI Vibrancy Index 2025, where India is ranked 3rd reflecting strong growth in AI R&D. PM Modi highlighted key sectors, in which India is either leading or preparing to lead the AI innovation. In healthcare, AI is already delivering impact, early detecting tuberculosis, diabetic retinopathy, epilepsy & many others. PM highlighted Amul’s unique initiative to reach 36 lakh women dairy farmers across thousands of villages, providing real-time guidance. Bharat Vistaar initiative aims to integrate AI into crop advisory, soil analytics and weather intelligence: PM Modi. Aadhar to UPI: India’s Digital Public Infrastructure journey offers crucial & practical lessons for the Global South. PM Modi also recognised India’s diverse urban & rural population as a unique ‘challenge & opportunity’ for AI innovations. Further, PM Modi counted on India’s engineering & IT talent pool, guided with Govt’s policies to lead the country to new heights in AI.
