‘Hero of Anantnag Encounter,’ Dy SP Humayun Bhat honoured with Kirti Chakra, parents feel proud

Srinagar (J&K), August 15 (ANI): Deputy Superintendent of J&K Police Humayun Muzzammil Bhat, who laid down his life while battling terrorists in a fierce encounter in Anantnag district of J&K last September was awarded with India’s second-highest gallantry medal during peacetime, Kirti Chakra on Independence Day. DGP J&K Police R. R. Swain, Goc 15 Corps Rajiv Ghai, ADGP J&K Vijay Kumar, IGP Kashmir V. K. Birdi & other officers also visited the residence of late DySP of J&K police Humayun Bhat. The other Kirti Chakra awardees are Colonel Manpreet Singh, Rifleman Ravi Kumar (63 Rashtriya Rifles) posthumously, and Major Malla Rama Gopal Naidu (56 Rashtriya Rifles). On the announcement of Kirti Chakra to DySP of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Humayun Bhat, J&K DGP RR Swain, Father of DySP of Humayun Bhat, and Goc 15 Corps. Rajiv Ghai said it’s a proud moment.
