Gujarat Govt School's “Maths Park” Makes Mathematics Fun, Practical and Easy for Students

A government primary school in Gujarat's Panchmahal district is redefining mathematics education through its innovative Maths Park, where students learn concepts through games, outdoor activities and hands-on experiences. Featuring number lines, abacus, geometry models and interactive learning spaces, the park makes mathematics simple, practical and enjoyable. Developed with the support of local artisans under the guidance of teachers and the principal, it promotes activity-based learning that strengthens conceptual understanding. Students say the engaging approach has improved their confidence and reduced the need for extra tuition. Recognized as a PM SHRI Model School, the initiative showcases how experiential learning can enhance classroom participation and improve learning outcomes, setting an example for government schools while contributing to the vision of Viksit Gujarat and Viksit Bharat.
