New Delhi, Oct 09 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched first-of-its-kind tree transplantation policy to preserve trees for a clean and green Delhi. He said that several old trees cut due to the development work and according to the earlier policy government plant 10 saplings. But now rather cutting the old tree government will transplant the tree to another place by using latest scientific techniques. He said that 80 per cent trees will be transplanted in any development work in which 80 per cent trees have to live, whichever agency take permission from the Delhi government. "Delhi govt has passed a tree transplantation policy, under which 80% of trees uprooted for any construction/development project, must be transplanted elsewhere. Payment will be made to the transplantation agency only if 80% of transplanted trees survive," he said.
