Sukma (Chhattisgarh), February 5, 2026 (ANI): Gogunda village in Sukma district, long a symbol of fear hidden in forest silence, gunpowder, and unspoken anxieties, is now witnessing a new beginning as the memorial of notorious Maoist CC member Ramanna, with a ₹2.4 crore bounty, has been demolished. For four decades, this structure cast a shadow over villagers, making children silent and women avoid certain paths, symbolizing fear more than stone. The operation, executed by CRPF’s 74th Battalion under Commandant Himanshu Pandey and Assistant Commandants Videkho and Ankit Singh, was carried out with full strategy and vigilance, sending a clear message that the politics of fear will no longer dominate. Ramanna, once feared across Telangana, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh, had posthumous memorials erected as symbols of martyrdom. With its destruction, years of silence were broken, relief shone in villagers’ eyes, and as one elder said, “For the first time, it feels like we are truly free.” This marks the end of Naxalite terror and the start of trust, development, and constitutional triumph.
