COVID-19: 2 Indian indigenous vaccines undergo successful toxicity studies in rodents, informs ICMR

New Delhi, Jul 14(ANI): Indian Council of Medical Research, DG Balram Bhargava during the press briefing of Health Ministry on July 14 informed that there are 2 Indian indigenous candidate vaccines for COVID-19. Balram Bhargava further said, “They have undergone successful toxicity studies in rats, mice and rabbits. Data was submitted to DCGI following which both these got clearance to start early phase human trials early this month. These candidates have got their sites ready and they are doing their clinical study on approximately a 1000 human volunteers each at different sites.”
