Celebrity Chef Kunal Kapur reveals how family traditions shaped his passion for cooking

Gurugram (Haryana), May 15, 2026 (ANI): Speaking about his journey, Indian Celebrity Chef Kunal Kapur said, “When I was a kid, I never thought of becoming a chef... I joined food just because I enjoyed the process of food... even though at that time, when it wasn't a very sought-after career... and becoming a chef is not a great career choice... But once I got into the trade, I enjoyed it so much..." He adds, “My father, grandfather, and my uncle got into cooking very early by simply helping my grandmother... As they grew older, they enjoyed the process of cooking. And that's where I think I get my inspiration from. Because my inspiration is from something so simple and basic, and something so comfortable... you'll always see an element of ease in making dishes with whatever is available in the kitchen. I try and bring that out...”
