24 people tested positive for coronavirus at Nizamuddin’s Markaz building: Delhi Health Minister

New Delhi, Mar 31 (ANI): A religious gathering was held in Delhi’s Nizammudin area that violated coronavirus lockdown conditions and several COVID-19 positive cases have been found among those who attended the gathering. While speaking to ANI, the Health Minister of Delhi, Satyendar Jain said, “24 people who were present at the Markaz building of Nizamuddin have been tested positive for coronavirus so far. We are not certain of the number but it is estimated that 1500-1700 people had assembled at Markaz building.” “1033 people have been evacuated so far - 334 of them have been sent to hospital and 700 sent to quarantine center,” he added. There are total 87 positive cases of coronavirus in Delhi. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 1117 in India including 32 deaths.
