Uganda Airlines authorized to operate long-haul flights

Aug 21, 2021

Kampala (Uganda), August 21: Uganda Airlines on Friday announced that it had secured an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) to operate long-haul flights.
The national carrier said its A330-800neo aircraft were ready to fly to Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
"The Airbus A330-800 neo has been added to our AOC and soon we will be flying the crane long haul to Dubai, London, Mumbai and Guangzhou," the airline said in a statement.
The certification was authorized from the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority, a state regulator of the airline industry in the country.
Uganda Airlines collapsed in 2001 after financial difficulties, and was liquidated after years of suffering losses.
The country's government is optimistic that the revival of the national flag carrier will boost the economic growth and tourism.
