QC chairman meets Malaysian envoy to boost trade relations

Doha [Qatar], April 9: In a move aimed at strengthening bilateral economic ties, Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani held a high-level meeting with Ambassador of Malaysia to Qatar HE Faizal Razali onWednesday.
The meeting was attended by Rizal Kahar, chairman of the Malaysian Business Executive Council-Qatar, and Dr. Mohammed bin Jawhar Al Mohammed, member of the Qatar Chamber Board.
Discussions during the meeting focused on enhancing economic and trade cooperation between Qatar and Malaysia, with both sides exploring avenues to further deepen these relations. The participants reviewed the investment climate in both countries and highlighted the wide range of opportunities available for investors and businesses seeking to expand their presence in either market.
Both parties underscored the pivotal role of the private sector in advancing bilateral ties, stressing its importance in driving trade growth and facilitating joint ventures. They also emphasized the need to encourage mutual investments that would contribute to increasing trade volumes and fostering sustainable economic partnerships.
In his remarks, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim praised the longstanding and robust relations between Qatar and Malaysia, noting the shared commitment of both nations to elevate cooperation across various sectors, particularly in trade and investment. He also lauded Malaysia's remarkable economic progress and reaffirmed the strong interest of Qatari businessmen in tapping into the promising Malaysian market.
Faizal Razali, in turn, commended the solid bilateral relations and expressed admiration for Qatar's dynamic investment environment. He highlighted the country's flexible economic policies and investor-friendly regulations, which continue to attract foreign investments and support business growth.
Meanwhile, Rizal Kahar noted that the Malaysian Business Executive Council in Doha was established to serve as a bridge between the two business communities. He reiterated the council's commitment to promoting joint investments and enhancing trade exchange, thereby contributing to the continued strengthening of Qatar-Malaysia economic relations.
The meeting reflects the growing momentum in bilateral engagement and the shared vision of both countries to expand cooperation, paving the way for increased business collaboration and economic prosperity.
