Ngoc Son broke down in tears when recounting the story behind the song 'Father's Love'

Hanoi [Vietnam], April 5: Ngoc Son shared about his career journey, memories of his late father, and the bond between him and his brother Ngoc Hai throughout their many years in the arts.
Sharing on iHay TV , Ngoc Son spoke about his father, a former resistance fighter who laid the moral foundation for the four siblings in his family . Notably, the renowned singer revealed for the first time the circumstances surrounding the creation of the song " Father's Love ," a work closely associated with his name.
Ngoc Son recalled the period after 1975, when his family lived in Tam Hai commune (formerly Quang Nam province). One cold night, he slept next to his father and suddenly woke up when he felt the warmth from the jacket his father had quietly covered him with.
"I woke up and saw my father giving me his coat in the cold night. I was very moved but didn't dare say anything, and I never told this story to my father when he was alive," Ngoc Son shared.
This moment became the inspiration for the lyrics in " Father's Love ." The singer said that his father's teachings about living an honest and upright life have profoundly influenced his life and career. He also recalled a childhood memory involving a "chicken egg" he found belonging to a neighbor but returned, as a lesson in honesty.
Brotherhood and career support
Besides stories about family, the relationship between Ngoc Son and his younger brother Ngoc Hai was also mentioned. According to shared information, in the early stages of his career, Ngoc Son used his brother's name as a pen name for some of his compositions, including the song "Giận hờn" (Resentment ), to help Ngoc Hai gain more recognition from the public.
The male singer said this was his way of supporting his younger brother in the early stages of his artistic career. Later, when things stabilized, he would correct the author information.
For his part, Ngoc Hai expressed gratitude and respect for his older brother. He said that although Ngoc Son has an open personality in everyday life, he is very serious in guiding and educating his children. Even in his middle age, renowned singer Ngoc Son maintains a high intensity of physical training with disciplines such as weightlifting, martial arts, and table tennis. He personally demonstrated his current physical condition by lifting 60kg in place, and also stated that sports training significantly contributes to his vocal technique and stage performance abilities.
Furthermore, Ngoc Son stated that his martial arts training is not aimed at competition but rather at improving willpower, patience, and discipline in life.
Regarding music, the renowned male singer said he maintains the habit of learning and researching traditional art forms such as cheo, cai luong, and folk songs from the three regions of Vietnam in order to enrich his creative thinking.
