Draw for Amir Cup volleyball quarter-finals held

Doha [Qatar], April 7: The draw for the quarter-finals stage of Amir Cup Volleyball Championship 2025-26 was held at the Qatar Olympic Committee headquarters on Monday.
The draw resulted in balanced matches that reflect the close technical levels of all the clubs, with Al Rayyan meeting Qatar SC, Al Wakrah facing Al Ahli, Qatar Police facing Al Sadd, and Al Arabi meeting Al Gharafa.
The final stages of the tournament will be held from April 8 to 15 at the Aspire Women's Sports Hall, using a single-elimination format, which gives all matches an exciting character and raises the competitive level among all teams.
The quarter-final matches are scheduled to take place on April 8 and 9, while the semi-finals will be played on April 12, with the tournament concluding with the final on April 15.
The Qatar Volleyball Association has allocated large financial prizes with the winning team to receive two QR2million while the runner-up will get QR1million which reflects the great value of the tournament at the level of local competitions.
On the sidelines of the tournament draw ceremony, a cooperation agreement was signed between the QVA and Bayt Al Video, and Jumbo Electronics in the presence of representatives of the company and the federation.
The collaboration came as part of supporting the events accompanying the most prestigious volleyball cup competitions.
Yousef Ahmed Kano, Secretary-General of QVA, following the draw stated: "The tournament is entering its most important stage with the arrival of the knockout rounds, noting that the single-match knockout system gives the competitions factors of strength, excitement and suspense, and pointing out that the arrival of eight strong teams to the quarter-finals reflects the high level of competition in the Qatari league."
He added that the upcoming matches will be like early finals, as all teams strive to win the title, especially since the tournament is considered the most prestigious at the local level.
Saeed Salem Al Nuaimi, Assistant Secretary of QVA, said that all organizational arrangements for holding the tournament have been completed, noting that the Aspire Women's Sports Hall will be ready to host all the tournament matches according to the highest standards.
He explained that the Qatar Volleyball Federation worked to provide an ideal environment that would ensure the success of the competitions, both technically and organizationally, in order to achieve the best experience for the participating teams and fans.
