Vice-president to visit Austria

Kathmandu (Nepal) May 25: Vice-president Nanda Bahadur Pun will visit Vienna, Austria, at the invitation of the President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen, to attend the R20 Austrian World Summit being held in Vienna on May 28.
The summit is dedicated to climate action. Minister of Forest and Environment Shakti Bahadur Basnet will accompany Vice-president Pun during the visit.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on May 27 the vice-president will attend the 40th anniversary celebration of Vienna International Centre, the hub of multilateral diplomacy in Vienna. In the evening, he will attend the reception being hosted by Austrian Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, in honour of visiting presidents, vice-presidents, prime ministers and heads of delegations.
On May 28, Vice-president Pun will address a panel on climate action at the R20 Austrian World Summit. The panel will consist of heads of state and government from different countries.
The vice-president will then join the official luncheon to be hosted by the Austrian Federal President, in honour of the visiting presidents, vice-presidents and heads of delegation, to be followed by a high-level round-table discussion, chaired by him. In the evening, Ambassador/Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations Office in Vienna Prakash Kumar Suvedi will host dinner in honour of the vice-president.
Also while in Austria, the vice-president will visit the International Mount Everest Day celebration being held in Innsbruck on May 29, and will address the event. The governor of Innsbruck region will pay a courtesy call on the vice-president on May 30.
The vice-president will return to Nepal on May 31. The delegation will also include spouse of the vice-president Hastamali Pun, senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Forest and Environment.
